What To Look For In A UTV Sound Bar

Do you want to add a sound bar to your off road vehicle? If so, it's important to know what features to look out for to ensure you purchase the best sound bar for you.

Metal Housing

You'll want to look at the actual material that the sound bar is made out of. Since it is going to be going on your off road vehicle, you'll want to make sure that the sound bar is durable enough to withstand wear and tear. Avoid a sound bar that is made with plastic, and go with one that has metal housing. Aluminum is a great choice if you see a sound bar made with that material.

Waterproof Rating

In addition to study housing, the speaker should have a waterproof rating to guarantee that it will be protected from the outside elements. The speaker should have at least an IPX4 rating, which means it is capable of withstanding splashes of water from any direction.

Mounting Hardware

Consider what mounting hardware comes with the sound bar, since that should be factored into the overall price of the speaker. Some sound bars come with all the mounting hardware that you need, while others require you to supply it. While the latter is fine if you are replacing an existing sound bar, you will want the hardware if you are installing a sound bar for the first time.

Shock Resistance

Check out the rating for the sound bar in terms of shock resistance. Since you are going to be driving off road and taking a lot of bumps, you want a sound bar that is going to be capable of withstanding those shocks. The higher shock rating will result in peace of mind that the sound bar will survive.

RF Remote

There will come a time when your off road vehicle is parked and you want to control the music. Look for a sound bar that comes with an RF remote rather than an IR remote. The advantage of an RF remote is that it doesn't need to be pointed directly at the speaker for it to work properly.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Sound bars have a variety of different ways that you can connect a device to it. While a headphone jack can get audio from any device into the speaker, you'll want a sound bar that uses Bluetooth connectivity. It will be much easier to transmit music to the sound bar when you don't need to have a device physically connected to it. Look into a UTV sound bar system near you for more details.
